If Japanese Prime Ministers were any wetter, they’d have to be carried in a bucket.

I usually take these resignations as a reminder of how awful it is for people from Confucian cultures to be in the arena — they seem a lot happier in the crowd. And also how hard it is for an Eastern leader who can’t make use of the archetype of the wise ruler with inept advisors. Does anyone know if these impressions are right?

Come on Yukio! Japan needs a bit of stable government. Put two fingers up to the world and fight!

Update: It seems Ichiro Ozawa is resigning as well. Now that makes the whole thing more interesting.
