I managed to drop my computer last night and it looks like the hard drive, at the very least, is completely dead. This means, rather annoyingly, that I have had to buy a new computer this morning. To make matters worse, I had rather foolishly failed to back up Tradestation or my internet bookmarks for a couple of months. But I do at least have all the main components of my Tradestation set-up and had the whole thing up and running by 11am today.
Someone recommended an excellent site called Ninite, which installs all the things you might want on your computer automatically. Also, I have rediscovered Dropbox, of which my Dad is a great fan. I plan to use it to make more regular backups.
At least I now have Windows 7. Last time I needed a new computer, they all came with Vista, which was awful.
