Both are in clear uptrends and had trading signals. Both are being driven upwards by crop damage caused by La Nina. Soybeans broke upwards on port strikes in Argentina; sugar broke upwards on Hurricane Yari apparently causing widespread damage to the Australian cane crop.

I entered sugar yesterday afternoon. I have been trying out the idea of entering in the middle of the session if there is a clear breakout. Sometimes one will do better by doing this, and sometimes worse, and it will probably all come out in the wash — except that sugar fell back before the close, and I find there is significant psychological downside when this happens. I think I will go back to trading at the close, in general.
